For those coming from France by the La Jonquera border post, or for those coming from Barcelona, they must take the AP-7 motorway to exit 5 (L'Escala-Empúries). Once out of the toll, turn left towards La Escala on the GI-623 road. Continue straight until La Escala. At the first roundabout, where the tourist office is located, take the third exit towards San Martín de Ampurias. Follow this road GIP-6307 to the entrance of the village.
For those arriving by Girona, take the NII national road, going north (France), to Orriols, where is the exit of La Escala. Continue straight on to La Escala.
